Wyong Reserve Sporting Facilities Upgrade
Construction is underway at Wyong Reserve, delivering new inclusive change rooms and a refurbished Merv McIntosh Pavilion.
The project will improve the quality, accessibility and functionality of sporting facilities at the reserve, better supporting local clubs and broader community use. The upgraded pavilion will provide modern, welcoming spaces that encourage participation and make the site more accessible for everyone.
Key elements of the project include:
- New gender‑neutral change rooms, providing safe and inclusive facilities for all users
- Refurbished social hall and amenities within the Merv McIntosh Pavilion to support club activities and community events
- Additional storage areas to accommodate growing participation and equipment needs
- Improved accessibility throughout the facility, ensuring equitable access and compliance with current standards
Works commenced in late April 2026.
This investment will help future‑proof Wyong Reserve, promote gender equity, and strengthen community participation in sport and recreation.

Works on the new change room building at Wyong Reserve continue to progress well, with several key construction milestones now achieved. The concrete slab has been completed and the underground plumbing infrastructure installed, providing the foundation for the next stage of construction.
The project is now moving into the vertical construction phase, with the steel framing of the building taking shape and the overall footprint of the facility becoming increasingly visible. The erection of the steel structure marks an important milestone in the delivery of the project and provides the framework for upcoming works, including roofing, wall cladding and internal fit-out activities.

Project planning commenced.

December to January 2026 – Tender open period
The construction tender was advertised during this period, inviting qualified contractors to submit bids for the works.

March 2026 – Tender award
The planning and tendering processes are now complete, with a preferred contractor appointed at the March 2026 Ordinary Council Meeting.

April 2026 – Construction commenced
On-site works commenced in late April 2026.

End of December 2026 – Planned construction completion
The goal is to complete the building works by the end of 2026.

January 2027 – Planned project completion
It is anticipated the Wyong Reserve Sporting Facilities upgrade will be completed by January 2027.
