Age Friendly Canning

The City of Canning is supporting the development of an Age Friendly Canning.

Age friendly communities are those that are inclusive and accessible for people of all ages. They encompass spaces and places, programs and initiatives that make the community better for all residents, including children, young people, parents, and older people.

Canning's Vision for Age Friendly

The City’s first Age Friendly Plan introduces the concepts of an age friendly community, with a set of identified actions for completion over a two-year time frame from 2024 - 2026.

Aged care reforms and reviews

The Australian Government Department of Health and Aged Care are making changes to aged care. The vision is to deliver the highest quality person-centred care for older people, where and when they need it.

Local seniors clubs and groups

Canning is home to many seniors clubs and groups who provide fun activities to keep you healthy and active.

Mental health support

  • Head to Health – Head to Health can help you find free and low-cost, trusted online and phone mental health resources.

Translating and Interpreting Service
