Conservation and environment

The City of Canning manages 500 hectares of natural wetland, river and bushland areas with support from local community groups.

These natural areas are considered key assets of the City as they:

  • provide beautiful places for the community to visit and enjoy
  • offer protection to remnant vegetation communities
  • provide a habitat for a wide variety of wildlife
  • help to sustain important ecological functions and processes.
