Swim School holiday break: Important information for our customers

As the school holidays approach, we want to keep our Swim School families informed about upcoming schedule changes and provide some useful options to ensure your child’s swimming progress continues smoothly throughout the holiday period.

Swim School break – No lessons from December 23, 2024, to January 6, 2025

Please note that our regular swimming lessons will take a break from Monday December 23, 2024 through to Sunday January 5, 2025. There will be no lessons held during this time, and we want to remind you that no lessons will be charged for this period. Enrolments will automatically continue after the break, and your child's regular lesson time will resume on Monday January 6, 2025.

If you decide not to continue your child’s lessons, please inform us before the break so we can process your request. Lessons will only be cancelled if you specifically notify us that you wish to stop. Otherwise, you’re all set to continue swimming!

Parking during the school holidays

During the school holidays, both Cannington Leisureplex and Riverton Leisureplex will be busier than usual due to VacSwim programs and the influx of families taking advantage of the break. This will likely result in increased parking demand and limited availability near both centres.

At Cannington Leisureplex, roadworks related to the Metronet project will also reduce road access in the area, so please allow extra time to find parking.

We recommend planning your visits with extra time to spare to ensure a smooth experience.

Options for school holiday swimming

We understand that many families want to keep their child’s swimming progress on track over the holidays. Here are a few options for you to consider:

• Continue swimming: If you’d like your child to keep swimming during the break, you can continue to come in for your regular lessons (and maybe book in a couple of make-up lessons)
• Make-up lessons: If you know your child will miss a class over the holidays, you can request a make-up lesson. Simply log into your account online and plan an absence with at least one hour’s notice to be eligible for a make-up lesson. This ensures your child doesn't miss out on their swimming progress. (As much notice as possible is preferred to allow other families to book into make-up lessons)
• Suspend lessons for $5.00 per week: If you're planning to be away or would prefer a break, you can choose to suspend your lessons for $5.00 per week. This will hold your child’s spot in the program and allow you to resume lessons after the holiday break without needing to re-enrol.

Enrolments automatically continue

As a reminder, your enrolment will automatically continue after the holiday break. You don’t need to take any action to secure your child’s spot in the new year. The only time your enrolment will be cancelled is if you specifically inform us that you wish to stop lessons. If you do not wish to continue, please notify us ahead of the break, and we will process your cancellation.

Looking ahead to future breaks

Looking ahead, our next Swim School break will be during the July school holidays, and will run for two weeks.

During the April school holidays, we’ll continue running lessons as usual, with a brief break over Easter.
