Halls and Community Centres
The City has an amazing collection of venues for hire, including fully-equipped halls, community centres, and pavilions.
Our venues are great for:
- meetings, workshops, and seminars
- weddings, hen's or buck's nights, engagement parties or graduation celebrations
- birthday parties for all ages
- functions for small and large groups
- community groups and play groups
- fitness, exercise classes and sporting events.
Venue hire options to suit any occasion.
Under 200 people
Private Events – 14 days (2 weeks) before your proposed event
Public Events – 30 to 60 days (6 – 8 weeks) before your proposed event
(This is dependent on the nature of your event, our team can discuss this with you)
Over 200 people
Application to be submitted 60 business days (12 weeks) before your proposed event.
You are required to set up an initial meeting at least 80 business days (16 weeks) prior to your proposed event.
Events with a shorter planning timeframe will not be accepted.
In this initial meeting we will talk you through and provide the application and planning processes, as well as discuss your event requirements.
Standard rate
The standard rate applies to most bookings of the venue hire.
Community rate
The community rate applies to not for profit organisations or those with a certificate of incorporation. This will need to be provided to our bookings team with your booking application.
A bond is payable for casual use of places within the City of Canning. Bonds are held against damage to the building or equipment, loss of keys, failure to secure the building or any additional charges for cleaning, repairs or other expenses incurred by the City as a result of your booking.
A bond can be paid by credit card or debit card pre-authorisation and is paid prior to the event at the time you collect the key.
A high-risk event includes 15th to 25th birthday parties or bridal party celebrations including buck’s and hen’s nights. Sporting group events and other parties where guests are mostly in the 15 to 25 age group may be considered as high-risk events.
You can conduct a high-risk event in the City of Canning, but conditions must be met prior to the City accepting a booking.
Please call the Active Places Officer on 1300 422 664 to discuss your proposed event. Bookings without prior discussion will not be accepted.
Bentley Community Centre
Large hall and foyer area with great kitchen facilities, the centre also has two meeting rooms available for hire and another room suitable for a crèche. The main hall has a capacity of 160.
Canning Town Hall
A main hall capable of seating 120 auditorium-style with a mezzanine floor overlooking the main hall.
Canning Vale Community Centre
Large hall and separate meeting room for hire, each with kitchen facilities. Main hall capacity is 120.
Canning Vale Pavilion
Fenced playground, with access directly from the hall with an outdoor play including a sand pit and other play equipment.
Centenary Pavilion
Purpose-built as a sporting pavilion but also great for meetings, workshops and social events.
Civic Park Stage and Amphitheatre
Beautifully presented, purpose-built, outdoor facility where the community can gather to host events, functions and festivals.
Corinthian Park Hall
Functions, meetings and other events the hall has excellent kitchen.
Harry Turner Pavilion
Functions, meetings and other events. The hall has excellent kitchen with ample bench space.
Hillview Intercultural Community Centre
Meeting rooms, activity spaces, a commercial kitchen, main hall, and computer lab all available for hire.
Hossack Pavilion
A purpose-built sporting pavilion, regular hire, meetings, and social events.
Leisureplexes
Our Leisureplexes have function rooms and meeting rooms, commercial kitchens, and a Play Centre for birthday parties
Lynwood Wandarrah Hall
Functions, regular hire, and meetings. Includes a large stage, excellent kitchen facilities, a piano and PA system (upon request).
Ranford Pavilion
Committee meetings, educational classes, small social activities and sporting club activities. Sporting pavilion adjoining the local sports field.
Rossmoyne Hall
Community building with wooden floors and upgraded kitchen facilities. There is a small stage and a fenced outdoor area.
Shelley Playhouse
Located on Aldam Place in Shelley, the Shelley Playhouse is a great place kids' parties.
Vic and Audrey Varischetti Pavilion
Suitable for meetings, classes, sporting club activities and small social functions.
Welshpool Learning Exchange
Large boardroom-styled meeting room equipped with everything you would need to host a business meeting, lecture or workshop.
Willetton Reserve Pavilion
The perfect location for social functions, classes, sporting club activity and meetings.
Willetton Sports and Community Centre
Carpeted and with a wooden dance floor, the lounge incorporates a small raised area which doubles as a stage. Includes excellent kitchen facilities.
Wilson Hall
Wilson Hall features a modern, light and airy hall, with an excellent kitchen and accessibility features.
Woodloes Homestead
he Church with a Chimney is available for casual hire for suitable events such as weddings and naming ceremonies. Bookings of the church are by arrangement with the Canning Districts Historical Society.
