Gaming in the Library
There are Nintendo Switch consoles available for use at the Cannington, Riverton, and Willetton Libraries.
With two consoles at each location and two controllers available on each of the consoles, you can bring a friend or family member along with you for a friendly game!
To borrow the controllers, children under the age of 12 years old must be supervised by their parent/guardian or another person aged 16 years or older.
How do I borrow the controllers?
If you are a member of the Library and have your membership card available, you are able to borrow up to two Nintendo Switch controllers at a time. Please present your Library card to a member of staff at one of the Canning libraries to issue the controllers to your card.
How long can I borrow the controllers?
You are able to borrow the controllers for half an hour at a time. If there is no one waiting for a turn on the consoles after you, you will be able to keep the controllers for longer. Please note that controllers cannot be borrowed within half an hour of the Libraries closing time. View the Library opening hours.
What titles are available to play?
The Nintendo Switch consoles are updated frequently with new games. We currently have a large selection of games such as:
- Super Smash Bros Ultimate
- Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
- Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
- Super Mario Party
- Rocket League
- Minecraft Dungeons
- Untitled Goose Game
And many more! If you have a suggestion for a game title you would like to see in the library, speak to a member of staff when you next visit the library.
Some of the titles available on the Nintendo Switch Consoles in the Libraries are also available for loan to take home through our Library of Things collection.
